Solution Engineer

Description

POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for the technical design, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and technical support of business applications. FOCUS AREAS Software Development Solution Engineering Application Integration Quality Assurance & Testing Database Support Application Support Security & Technical Controls KEY KPIs Delivery against agreed timelines Defect & incident rates Integration availability & uptime Successful deployment rate "QA & testing effectiveness REPORTING LINE Solution Engineer Reports to: Head of Applications, Automation & Business Intelligent KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT Design, build, test, and maintain full-stack business applications (front-end, back-end, and APIs) in line with agreed architecture and coding standards. Proficient in Python (Django & FastAPI) & JavaScript (React) Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code; participate in peer code reviews and follow secure coding practices (e.g. OWASP guidelines). Use version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines to manage releases and deployments in a controlled, auditable manner. Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical designs and solution architectures, in collaboration with business analysts and product owners. Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and design patterns to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements. Produce technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and solution documentation for new and existing systems.
